One of the reasons many piano factories closed in the past is there were great used pianos available in fantastic shape. Quality pianos last a long time. Quality pianos can be rebuilt for much less than the cost of a similar new quality piano. Much of what is made today is not manufactured to last generations or built with materials that will stand up to the test of time.

Many of our instruments are in original condition and can be purchased for the purpose of rebuilding.

Due to our waiting list of customers that bring pianos to us for rebuilding, we do not often have vintage pianos completed, ready for sale. However many of our clients purchase a piano before it is fully restored knowing we will perform a complete restoration. Some customers request of us to find a particular piano, which we later restore for them.

We are a rebuilding shop. At times the shop is closed while we do service calls. Please call ahead if you would like to visit us. We can not guarantee our hours of operation. Generally we are open Monday to Friday 9-6 And Saturday by appointment.

Karl Verhnjak took care of this beautiful Bosendorfer since it was purchased new in 1986 from Tom Lee Music. He last tuned it in 2001. Since then it has been maintained by our trusted tech.
In my opinion there was no better brand in the 80's and this one is a gem. It has been in one spot since it was delivered. The cabinet if near flawless. The one piece ivory is beautiful.
Renner action has very little wear.
The model 200 6'7" lists new in our area for just over $220,000
We just need to go over the regulation and tuning, some voicing and it is good to go.

This piano is in nice shape. Manufactured in 1983. New silk cords will be replaced as all these Yamahas of this vintage need this service, and is a full days work. You can see in the last photos the springs are not connected to the silk cords. The piano will still play and most people have no idea they are broken. The action will perform much better with the repairs. I've seen many Yamaha uprights purchased with these needing to be replaced.

One owner from Vancouver who purchased the piano new from Janish Pianos in the 1965!!
The piano looks like it is 40 years newer than it's age.
It was very well taken care of and the owners had the strings replaced in 2008.
The action is original and built by Renner.

5'9" in length. This piano is in nice shape. We will fully service the action and detail the cabinet.

Satin ebony. Manufactured in Germany 1927. Nice ivory key tops.

This piano is almost done. Receiving a rebuild in our shop. As a rule we are not able to find time to rebuild and sell our pianos on speculation. We have a 18 to 24 month wait list so we work on client pianos or pianos purchased from us to rebuild. Our clients have to wait for what we do. During Covid we pulled this piano from our stock and slowly over the last year and a half have been working on it along with all our client pianos. The Steinway action parts from Germany have been back ordered since June and arrive December 8th so I have decided to now post this piano for sale. Now that we can continue on it!!
We could have this piano completed by March 2022. We may not complete it without a prospective client as we have lots of client work to complete as well. More back ordered parts arriving in the new year for other Steinways. If someone wants this piano we will complete it within a few months. We replaced the hammers for the owner back in 1992. It has been in the same home since new when they purchased it directly from Hamburg. Sounds good looks good and plays good. This wonderful piano was purchase new in 1988 at the Vancouver Steinway dealer.

The piano has not been played much since the new action was installed. The owners daughter is now off to The University of Toronto to pursue a music degree. Her main instrument is actually the Oboe. Made in New York USA in 1883. This piano has turned heads now for 135 years. We have installed a new belly in the piano. New sound board, bridges and pin block. All new action parts will be installed including a new custom made keyboard. After we are done, the piano will turn heads for another 100 years.
